QoMEX 2026 - Quality of Multimedia Experience Meets Machine Intelligence

The 18th International Conference on Quality of Multimedia Experience (QoMEX’26) will take place in Cardiff, United Kingdom, from June 29 to July 3, 2026. This event will gather top experts from both academia and industry to showcase and discuss the latest research on multimedia quality, Quality of Experience (QoE), and User Experience (UX).

The Organizing Committee of QoMEX’26 invites Grand Challenge (GC) Proposals on emerging topics in multimedia quality, QoE, and UX.

GC guidelines

Please see the following guidelines for this year’s GC submissions:

  1. GC organizers cannot participate as competitors in the GC they are organizing.
  2. GC organizers should provide a dataset that is open for competition; in particular, it has to include a training set (if needed) and a test set (and ground truth, if relevant) which are made available or not to the GC participants depending on the GC specifics.
  3. GC organizers are responsible for evaluating all submitted GC contribution packages; a GC contribution package corresponds to a GC solution and should include a document describing the solution as detailed as possible in no more than 4 pages using the QoMEX format, results, software, etc.
  4. GC organizers should organize a GC session to be included in the QoMEX 2026 program, which should include presentations of a set of solutions selected by GC organizers, ideally followed by a panel or open discussion. GC winners should be announced during the GC sessions.
  5. Participants in GC are encouraged to submit short QoMEX papers (up to 3 pages of content + 1 page reference) corresponding to the GC solutions that, in case of acceptance, will be published in the conference proceedings. The rejection of the submitted QoMEX GC paper does not necessarily exclude the corresponding solution from assessment since the criteria involved are different, e.g. novelty is critical for the paper while performance may be more critical for the solution.
